Abstract: Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibers represent the third generation of high-performance fibers following carbon fiber and aramid. With their exceptional strength, lightweight characteristics, and wear resistance, they are leading a revolutionary shift in outdoor sports apparel materials. This paper systematically examines the main properties of UHMWPE fibers and their innovative uses in sports protective gear, functional apparel, and outdoor backpacks. It assesses their benefits in enhancing garment protection, enabling lightweight designs, and increasing comfort, while also addressing existing challenges. The paper further explores future development paths in material modification, advanced production technologies, and personalized customization.
