Recently, the Office of the Zhejiang Provincial Leading Group for High-Quality Manufacturing Development (Digital Economy Development) announced the selection of eight core areas and seven collaborative areas in the fourth batch of provincial key industrial clusters. The province’s modern textile and apparel industry now has a clearer development layout, comprising three core areas and eight collaborative areas. Xiaoshan District in Hangzhou, Tongxiang City in Jiaxing, and Keqiao District in Shaoxing have been designated as core areas, serving as key growth engines for Zhejiang’s textile and apparel industry.

The eight collaborative areas each have a distinct industrial focus. Linping District in Hangzhou, Haishu District in Ningbo, and Ouhai District in Wenzhou will concentrate on fashion apparel, while Lucheng District in Wenzhou will specialize in fashionable footwear. Haining City in Jiaxing will focus on technical textiles, while Xiangshan County in Ningbo and Lanxi City in Jinhua will prioritize intelligent weaving. Changxing County in Huzhou will further develop its home textiles industry. Building on their respective industrial strengths, these areas will pursue differentiated development and specialized growth, complementing the core areas through closer industrial coordination.

Moving forward, Zhejiang will adopt a tiered development approach, with core areas taking the lead, collaborative areas providing complementary support, and emerging “rising-star” industrial clusters cultivating new growth momentum. The province aims to strengthen, complete and extend industrial value chains, further capitalize on industrial clustering, and accelerate the textile and apparel industry’s transition toward higher-value, smarter and more fashion-oriented development.
