Abstract: In this paper, the monomer triethylamine isocyanate hydrate containing functional groups was used to control the degree of polymerization through targeted capping during the polymerization process. At the same time, the micromolecule was released to activate functional groups that continue to participate in the reaction, forming the primary body structure locally at high temperature during the cyclization drafting stage of polyimide filaments. Subsequently, the strength and heat resistance of the fibers were greatly improved. Under the influence of the selection of formula structure of polymerization system, the control of polymerization degree, and viscosity of the spinning solution, variations in the 5% TG temperature, strength retention at 300 ℃ for 24 hours, and the mechanical properties of polyimide fibers were investigated after adding the monomer triethylamine isocyanate hydrate. The results indicated that adding a specific amount of the monomer triethylamine isocyanate hydrate to the polymerization process could effectively improve the heat resistance of polyimide fibers and partially enhance their mechanical properties.
