Abstract: Defluorination has become an inevitable trend in the textile industry. This paper introduces the progress of synthesis technology for various types of fluorine-free water repellent and proposes relevant current status and development directions. Meanwhile, it describes the technical progress of the application of non-fluorinated water repellents in tents, raincoats, footwear, and other categories and points out the key points for the textile industry to further realize the defluorination so as to provide references for the development of fluorine-free water repellents for textiles.
