Abstract: The paper introduces the application status of polyester fibers in the main category of technical textiles through the cases and proposes that the rapid development of the technical textiles market in the past two decades is closely related to the global population growth, the significant decrease in the polyester fiber cost, accelerated urbanization, and the deep-rooted sustainable development concept. On this basis, the paper puts forward the development trend of polyester fibers for technical textiles, such as high performance, renewability, bio-based raw materials, and biodegradability.
