Abstract: In recent years, in order to meet the performance requirements of GCL in special application environments, new GCL products have continued to emerge. By optimizing the structure of bentonite layer or integrating functional layers, multi-component GCL solves the problems of insufficient performance and limited application of conventional GCL in some scenarios, and greatly improves the anti-seepage performance of GCL and its performance in specific environments. By introducing the R&D background of three multicomponent GCLs and testing the performance of new products, this paper demonstrates the improvement of GCL structure optimization as well as functional layer introduction. Meanwhile, the R&D and application of various new GCL products have shown that the structure and composition of GCL can be designed and optimized in a targeted manner to enhance product performance and meet the usage requirements of specific application environments.
