Abstract: PBO fiber has excellent mechanical properties, chemical stability, flame retardant and heat insulation properties, so it is widely used in many fields. However, PBO fiber is easily aged and degraded under ultraviolet, which seriously limits its application in outdoor and even in space environments. Based on the different combination of anti-ultraviolet finishing agent and PBO fiber, this paper classified three types’ anti-ultraviolet modification methods of the PBO fiber, that is, surface coating method, in-situ copolymerization method and solution blending method, and summarizes the characteristics, strengths and frailties of these three methods in combination with examples, so as to provide a reference for further research on UV aging resistance modification of PBO fiber.
