Abstract: Throughout the popular international yarn exhibitions held every year, a large part of innovative knitted fabrics is related to the diverse matching among different-color yarns, so as to present different styles and effects. Therefore, ever more diverse fabrics have put forward new requirements on yarns. In doing so, a variety of color styles and effects will be presented. At present, the development and research of fancy yarns are mainly focused on three aspects. The first is segment colored yarn, marble yarn, gray spun yarn, etc. produced by the ring spinning machine. The second is gradient color yarn produced by four-color gilling machine. The third is new-type yarns produced by new spinning methods, such as friction spinning, rotor spinning, etc. Based on the earlier development of different colored yarns on four-color gilling machine and friction spinning machines, this paper mainly introduces the recently developed colored yarns, and analyzes the innovation direction of using ring spinning machines to develop colored yarns.
