Effect of Lightweight Three-electrode System on Compressibility and Resistance of Fluffy Fabric

2020年12月30日

Abstract: In order to find the suitable electrode and related pressure for the electrical resistance test of fluffy fabric, a lightweight three-electrode system was designed to study the compressibility of fluffy fabric and the effect of compression on the resistance test. The experimental results showed that different types of fabrics have different compression characteristics, and there were two significant compression yield regions in the compression process of the raised woven fabric, interlock-knitted fabric and weft plain stitched fabric. The first yield region is near 50 Pa and the second is near 100~200 Pa. While the non-raised fabric has only one insignificant compression yield region. The electrode pressure has a significant effect on the electrical resistance of the fabric. In the yield stage (about 100~200 Pa), the light compression can not only ensure the effective contact between the electrode and the fibers, but also promise the fabric will not produce large compression deformation. The electrode pressure can obtain a relatively stable and accurate specific resistance in the range of 100 to 200 Pa. Therefore, fabrics with different compression characteristics should be tested for resistance in their suitable pressure range.
