Abstract: Rail transit is the lifeblood of high-quality development of new urbanization. The lightweight design requirements of rail transit equipment have promoted the rapid development of high-performance composite materials. With the characteristics of high strength, high insulativity, flame retardance, and chemical resistance, aramid materials are widely used in the motors, transformers and other spares of highspeed railway. The paper mainly introduces the application status of aramid materials, i.e., aramid paper, and aramid honeycomb sandwich structure composites in the field of rail transit, and looks forward to their future development.
