Abstract: From the perspective of industry development, the paper introduces the development process of China’s colored spun yarn. Within more than 30 years of development, China’s colored spun yarn industry region has continued to expand, starting from Zhejiang Province to the country’s main cotton spinning area.A number of outstanding colored spun yarn enterprises have emerged. The raw materials have expanded from the cotton fiber originally to almost all kinds of staples. Yarn color has also developed from heather gray to a variety of colors. And color application technology and related level continue to improve, the research for computer color measurement and color matching technology has been deepened. In addition, yarn product development advance continually, and its varieties have enriched, such as functional yarns, environmentalfriendly yarns, structurally differentiated yarns, etc. With the continual development of spinning technology,fiber blending technology and intelligent spinning technology are gradually maturing. And the application scope of colored spun yarn is also becoming even wider.
