Abstract: The chemical fiber industry is China’s traditional pillar industry, important civilian production industry and an industry that creates new international advantages. It is also an industry that integrate technology and fashion, and its products can be applied in both garment and technical textiles. As the source of the textile industry chain, fiber innovation and trend prediction provide more possibilities for downstream product innovation. The paper mainly summarizes and predicts the popular elements of chemical fibers used in end products such as garment, home textiles, technical textiles, and analyzes the research directions of five categories of fibers, i.e., comfort and health fibers, green fibers, elastic fibers, safety protective fibers, and engineering application fibers. Based on that, the paper recommended new fiber varieties with high degree of differentiation and high technical content introduced by the domestic chemical fiber industry in recent years.
