Abstract: The paper analyzes six problems in the carding process of machine-harvested cotton and the four related factors that have the greatest adverse impact on quality. Followed by the principles of blowingcarding process, i.e., optimizing equipment, removing impurities first, rationally configuring the process, fully carding, controlling the increase of cotton linters, and maximizing the removal rate of neps, the paper specifically adopted six process optimizations for the opening process, ten process optimizations for the carding process, and six optimization measures for card wires configuration, which can effectively reduce the existed problems, ensure the yarn quality, and give full play to the advantages of machine-harvested cotton.
Key words: mechanizing harvest cotton; carding; neps removal rate; cotton linters; yarn quality
