Abstract: Four kinds of down fabrics, i.e., nylon, polyester taffeta, polyester pongee, and polyamide/polyester blended fabric were chosen as the research objects to analyze the influence of raw material, weaving process, finishing process, garment production and washing method on the down-proof performance of down fabrics. Friction method and down drilling machine were used to test fabrics’ performance.Experimental results showed that when other parameters of the down fabric are same, the anti-drilling property of the fabric significantly improved with the increase of the number of single fibers, the fineness of the yarn, the density of warp and weft, and the fluffy degree of the down in the garment; the fabric with plain weave has better anti-drilling property than twill weave and satin weave; finishing process will increase the anti-drilling property of the fabric, however, the increase in washing temperature will weaken its anti-drilling property.
