Abstract: Polyimide fiber is a new member of the high-performance fibers family, which has a number of outstanding properties such as high-tenacity & high-modulus, corrosion-resistant, high- and low-temperature resistant. Over the past few years, with the improvement of synthesizing technology, the industrialization process of polyimide fiber has accelerated and its applications expanded. The paper introduces the latest development of polyimide fiber both at home and abroad, including the synthesizing process and the applications of the fiber and sums up the modification methods for polyimide fiber.
