Abstract: The blue-tinged luminescent materials like Sr2MgSi2O7: Eu2+, Dy3+ are prepared by solid-state polymerization at high temperature. The influence of the types of flux, sintering temperature and sintering time on the brightness and duration of afterglow was analyzed by using an afterglow tester. Test results indicated that adding 10% H3BO3 is helpful to maintain the afterglow brightness and prolong its duration, while Na2CO3, Li2CO3 have negative effect on the afterglow characteristics; the slower the heating rate, the greater the afterglow brightness of the material; and the heat retention time should be moderate, which depends on the charge amount of materials.
