Abstract: The paper introduces the technological advantages and developing trend of semi-worsted yarn as well as the applications of compact-spinning technology and fancy yarn technology in developing highquality semi-worsted yarn. As semi-worsted yarn is typically used for producing high-quality knitwear, which have higher requirement on yarn quality, the production of semi-worsted yarn requires highperformance equipment and optimized process, so as to guarantee the resulted yarn complying with the requirements of downstream processing.
