Abstract: Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) fiber has excellent fire-retardant and heat-resistant properties, good thermal stability and a corrosion resistance only second to polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) fiber. In this paper, PPS fiber was manufactured into nonwoven fabric through carding, web-forming, needle-punching and finishing process, and the filtering performance and acid resistance of the PPS filtering material and the effect of finishing process on product properties were analyzed. Experiments show that PPS fiber has certain acid resistance, and after finishing, the filtering performance of the needle-punched PPS material can be significantly improved.
