Abstract: In this article, silver loaded activated carbon fiber is immersed in water solution, and silver content of the water solution is then determined by ICP-OES method. The release mechanism, release influence factors and sustained release performance of the silver loaded activated carbon fiber are also analyzed. The results indicate that the silver release process of the silver loaded activated carbon fiber in water solution is the result of the silver ion release of silver particles on fiber combined with the silver ion reduction-adsorption by activated carbon fiber. In the process of impregnation, the concentration of silver ion improves with the increase of concentration of dissolved oxygen and silver content of the silver loaded activated carbon fiber. It decreases with the increase of pH and impregnation temperature. In addition, the silver loaded activated carbon fiber shows excellent sustained release ability.
