Data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that China’s value-added industrial output, an important economic indicator, increased 5.9% yearly in the first two months of 2025. In February alone, the industrial production grew 0.51 percent from January.
Industrial output is used to measure the activity of large enterprises, each with an annual main business turnover of at least 20 million yuan (about US$2.79 million).
From January to February, the textile industry’s value-added output upped by 7.0%. By product, in the first two months, the production of 378 out of 623 kinds of products increased year-on-year.
Among them, fabric output increased by 0.7% year-on-year from January to February to 4.5 billion meters. The output of chemical fibers upped by 5.6% year-on-year in the first two months to 12.91 million tons.
