Industrial Value-added of China’s Textile Industry up by 5.1% from January to November

China’s industrial output sustained steady expansion in November amid measures for industrial equipment upgrades, official data showed. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said that value-added industrial output, an important economic indicator, expanded 5.4% year on year in November.

The industrial output measures the activity of enterprises each with an annual main business turnover of at least 20 million yuan (about US$2.8 million).

From January to November, the textile industry’s value-added output upped by 5.1%. By product, in November, the production of 374 out of 619 kinds of products increased year-on-year.

Among them, fabric output increased by 1.8% year-on-year in November to 2.8 billion meters and grew by 1.0% year-on-year from January to November to 28.2 billion meters. And the output of chemical fibers upped by 2.3% year-on-year in November to 6.77 million tons and surged 8.7% year-on-year to 72.18 million in the first eleven months.
