The prosperity index of China’s cotton textile industry came in at 49.94 in December, up 2.79 from November, hitting the highest value of the whole year, which maintained a recovery trend.
In December, the raw material purchasing index came in at 51.88, up 6.15 over November; the raw material inventory index came in at 51.25, up 3.62 month-on-month; the production index was 47.67, down 0.32 from November; the product sales index came in at 49.61, up 4.2 from November; the product inventory index was 53.03, up 3.74 from November and the business index came in at 49.53, up 3.19 from the previous month.
The prosperity index of China’s cotton textile industry is based on the weighed calculation of numerous main indicators of about 200 backbone cotton textile enterprises. A reading above 50 indicates expansion, while a reading below reflects contraction.
