According to the data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to May, the profit of China’s industrial enterprises above designated size totaled over CNY 1.84 trillion, seeing a year-on-year decrease of 19.3%, 8.1 percentage points narrower than the first four months. The profit of manufacturing industry totaled over CNY 1.54 trillion, fell by 16.6% year-on-year.

From January to May, the main business income of textile enterprises above designated size reached CNY 36.88 trillion, decreased by 7.4% compared with the same period the previous year; the profit of textile industry totaled CNY 30.96 billion, with year-on-year decline of 10.3%. While the main business income of enterprises above designated size in garment and accessories industry reached CNY 464.7 billion, decreased by 16.9% year-on-year; the profit of garment and accessories industry reached CNY 18.05 billion, with year-on-year decrease of 29.2%.

From January to May, the main business income of leather, fur, feather and their products and footwear industry reached CNY 362.85 billion, down 18.1% year-on-year; their profit totaled CNY 16.74 billion, with year-on-year decline of 30.3%.

From January to May, the main business income of enterprises above designated size in chemical fiber manufacturing industry was CNY 286.29 billion, down 18.0% year-on-year; and its profit totaled CNY 4.1 billion, declined by 59.1% year-on-year. In May, the profit of industrial enterprises above designated size totaled CNY 582.34 billion, edged up 6.0% year-on-year.
