Research Progress on Pretreatment Methods of Fiber-based Microplastics in Water Environment

2022年11月11日

Abstract: As a new type of pollutant, microplastics can exist in water, soil, and animal bodies for a long time due to their stable structure and indestructible property, and damage environment. Microfibers are fibrous microplastics, which mainly belong to synthetic fiber textiles. Microfibers have a small particle size and stable structure and are not easy to degrade, which present widely in seawater, lakes, laundry wastewater, and other water bodies. In light of the complexity of water samples, experimenters often use different pretreatment methods to extract microfibers. This paper compares and analyzes the strengths and frailties of these different pretreatment processes, introduces the suitable method for different water bodies, and puts forward relevant suggestions for the current insufficient pretreatment methods.
