Effect of Tensile Rate on Tensile Properties of Warp-knitted Geogrids

Abstract: In this paper, the effects of four tensile rates on the tensile properties of warp-knitted polyester geogrids were studied by conducting uniaxial tensile tests. The results show that the influence of tensile rates on the nominal strength of geocell is different in the process of uniaxial tension. But the tensile curves of the four geogrids are similar, indicating that the failure mechanism of geogrid warp and weft yarns is similar, and the strain at the time of failure is all above 10%. As the tensile rate increases, the tensile strength of the geogrid grows; the peak strain decreases; the secant tensile modulus increases. The test results provide an important reference for the analysis of the internal mechanical mechanism of the reinforced structure.
