Abstract: Compared with traditional engineering metals, composite materials have many advantages and related use had increased significantly over the years. Weaving is a promising and common method for preparing continuous fiber-reinforced composites, which has been widely used in medical, aerospace and automotive and other fields. By introducing the quasi-static mechanical properties of two-dimensional braided tubular composites, the paper put forward related applications and their wide possibilities and advantages. In the end, the paper summarized many analytical models for predicting the properties of braided composites, which contributed to the increasing popularity of these materials.
