Abstract: In order to develop the fabric with indoor air purification function, taking mulberry silk, cellular photocatalyst fibers, bamboo charcoal fibers and viscose blended yarn as raw materials, the paper carried out a comparative analysis of formaldehyde-removing curtains and wall coverings with same warp yarns, eight-shaft satin weaves, warp and weft density, wefting ratio as well as different filling yarns. Through the self-made testing device, the air quality detector was used to detect the removal of formaldehyde, and the best choice of filling yarn was determined to optimize the performance of the fabric. At the same time, combined with pattern design and process design, the fabric was designed and developed in a new Chinese style. Double weft weave and single-layer weave were adopted to strive to match the most appropriate weave for each pattern, and then applied these fabrics into curtain and wall coverings. Results indicated that formaldehyde removal performance of the fabrics becomes better with the increase of the content of cellular photocatalyst fibers and cellular bamboo charcoal fibers; the formaldehyde adsorption effect of cellular photocatalyst yarn was better than that of cellular bamboo charcoal yarn; filling yarns should select 100% cellular photocatalyst fiber.
