Effect of Drug Treatment on Structure and Filtration Performance of Water Electret Polypropylene Nonwovens

2021年7月19日

Abstract: Under the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, polypropylene meltblown nonwovens played an integral role in 2020. Based on the efficient filtration function of polypropylene melt blown nonwovens, three kinds of drugs (oseltamivir, amantadine and ribavirin) are selected to impregnate the water electret polypropylene nonwovens. The results showed that when the mass fraction for those three drugs is 2.0% and after 24 hours treatment time, there are obvious drug particles attached on the surface of the nonwoven, and there is no significant difference in the amount of adhesion of the three drugs. After impregnation, the aggregation structure and mechanical properties of polypropylene fibers are not significantly affected. After the treatment with oseltamivir and ribavirin, the filtration efficiency of water electret polypropylene meltblown nonwovens doesn’t have significant change. But after the treatment with amantadine, the filtration efficiency of NaCl aerosol and DEHS aerosol decreased to 44.6% ± 4.6% and 52.9% ± 5.94%, respectively.
