Knitting Process Optimization of the Structural Parts of Flat Knitted Women’s Suits

Abstract: In order to make the version of flat knitted apparel more in line with the human body, the paper takes the fit-type horizontal knitted women’s suit as the research object and uses SKT knitting intelligent calculation software to convert the CAD structure drawing of the women’s suit into a knitting process diagram based on the garment pattern technique and the principle of flat knitting. In doing so, the paper analyzes and optimizes the knitting process of several main structural parts such as armhole curve, sleeve head curve, and waist line, and verifies its feasibility via knitting the suit sample. The result indicated that the way of narrowing will affect the shape of the armhole curve and sleeve head curve, and changing fabric stitches, pattern structure, and the combination of widening and narrowing can also achieve the effect of the waist line.
