Abstract: This paper introduces the development of China's high-count and ultra-high-count yarns. Starting from the earliest use of long-staple cotton to produce pure cotton yarn, after more than 20 years of development, it has now moved forward to ultra-high-count blended yarns with different raw materials and a variety of functional application. The paper carries out an analysis based on the distribution of key production regions of high-count and ultra-high-count yarns in China, the types of produced yarns, the use of raw materials, and the use of technology and equipment, and summarizes 4 obvious advantages of highcount and ultra-high-count yarns over conventional yarns.
