Abstract: Apart from decorative function, the outdoor clothing also should have the function of ventilation and heat dissipation to maintain the body’s heat and moisture balance. Based on the research on the relationship between the opening design and ventilation effect of outdoor clothing, the paper introduces the natural opening design, like cuffs, and neckline, as well as designed opening of outdoor clothing, analyses their ventilation effect and related design skills. This paper can provide a theoretical reference for future reasonable opening design based on the functional requirements of outdoor clothing, so as to achieve the best ventilation effect.
