Abstract: Magnetron sputtering, as a new low temperature and high-speed sputtering technology, is widely used in fabric coating. This paper introduces the common methods of metallization coating of fabric, summarizes the application of magnetron sputtering technology in the field of safety protection, medical & hygiene, environmental protection and electronic industry, etc., and discusses the existing problems of magnetron sputtering technology. Research indicated that the magnetron sputtering technology can metallize the fabric surface and endow with special properties effectively, but its own shortcomings still need to be overcome and develop toward multi-functionality, compound, and new-type high-efficiency technologies.
