Effect of Atmospheric Pressure Plasma-Fluoroalkyl Silanes Treatment on Water-repellent and Oil-repellent Properties of Polyester Nonwovens

2019年4月15日

Abstract: To improve the water-repellent and oil-repellent properties of PET nonwoven materials, the materials were pretreated by atmospheric dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma and then treated by 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorooctyl triethoxysilane. The paper carried out a research on the surface morphology, surface chemical composition and water-repellent and oil-repellent properties of PET material after the plasma-fluoroalkyl silanes finishing. Results showed that plasma pretreatment can significantly improve the water-repellent and oil-repellent properties of PET nonwovens. When the plasma treatment time is 120 s, the water-repellent grade of PET material reached 100 and the oil-repellent level was up to 5 after the plasmafluoroalkyl silanes finishing, and the longitudinal and transverse strength loss rates are 3.9% and 4.4%.
