Abstract: This paper introduces the definition and development status of AI technology in the knitting industry, and its role played in promoting the transformation and upgrading of the knitting industry. This paper classifies the application of AI technology in the knitting industry in five aspects, including AIbased knitting CAD system, AI-based CAM system, AI-based knitting MES system, AI-based logistics & transportation system and AI-based trend research, elaborates the development status of each of these systems and analyses the application of AI technology in each system. And then the paper indicates that AI technology will certainly affect the development of traditional knitting industry and provide strong support for enhancing the core competence of the knitting industry.
