Abstract: The main advantage of fully-fashioned sweater lies in the omission of seaming step. The sweater can be worn directly after knitting. Compared with traditional production mode, fully-fashioned sweater has better structural continuity. However, the advantages are limited by many factors in the production process.This paper discusses a method for designing continuous stitch structure for fully-fashioned sweater based on Shima Seiki’s WHOLEGARMENT computerized flat knitting machine and the SDS-ONE APEX3 design system, from the angles of knitting principle, technical difficulties, computer technology and so on, which provides reference for the development of fully-fashioned sweater with functionality and decorativeness.
