Abstract: This article analyzes the rich cultural implications of Taohuawu woodcut pictures, interprets their rich folk customs, distinctive geo-culture and aesthetic taste, and tries to find out their meeting point with modern aesthetic ideology and way of thinking. By taking the aesthetic consciousness and emotional needs of today’s consumers into first consideration, it explores the inspiration of these pictures to creative clothing design, calls on the return to the true beauty of nature and emphasizes the dialogue and interaction between human body and the fabric. From “concrete” to “abstract”, it integrates and interprets the flavor of local culture; and from “abstract” to “concrete” to concrete products, it changes the way of thinking from perceptual evaluation to rational analysis, hoping to inspire creative clothing design ideas and let traditional art resonate with modern design.
