Abstract: Designing garment with virtual reality technology is an important trend for the future development of garment industry. The paper elaborates the application of virtual reality technology in modern garment modeling design. Based on extensive experiments and practice, a comparison is made between threedimensional garment modeling design and two-dimensional garment modeling design in terms of design ideas and design methods, the principle of three-dimensional external and internal modeling design in virtual environment is expounded. And then by investigating the relations between man and garment and between garment and space in a virtual environment, by discussing the development and innovation of virtual reality technology in modern garment design and based on aesthetic design principle of garment, the paper sums up the concept and method of designing modern garment with virtual reality technology.
