Abstract: The paper analyzes the structure and function of sleeves for outdoor clothing. By discussing the static and dynamic functions of human arm and the transitions from static to dynamic state, it describes the structural and functional design requirements of the sleeves. Taking the design of separate sleeves and onepiece sleeves as example, it presents the basic ideas for structural and functional design of the sleeves: under static state, the whole piece should tilt forward, forearm part bending; and under dynamic state, the elbow part is three-dimensional and the sleeve bottom is connected to front and back armpit points.
