Abstract: Based on case study and practical applications, the paper discussed how to apply the traditional patterns of Kwon-glazed porcelain – a national intangible cultural heritage also named as Guangdongdecorated export ware – to modern fashion design. By investigating the characteristics of Kwon-glazed porcelain patterns, it sorted out and extracted the bird and flower patterns, transformed them and then applied them to modern fashion design. The study shows that the poetic integration of traditional local culture and modern fashion design can facilitate the fusion and symbiosis of aesthetic and cultural value, which is an effective way for designers to construct their personalities in fashion design, especially in cross-culture background.
