Abstract: Clothing ventilation is a main factor that affects human thermal-wet comfort. Taking a working jacket as the research object, this paper investigated the effects of clothing ventilation on subjective thermalwet comfort by using a developed clothing ventilation measuring system. The experimental results show that: there is a significant negative linear correlation between clothing ventilation value and thermal sensation in the same movement conditions; wet sensation is strongest while clothing ventilation value is biggest when walking; and there is no linear correlation between clothing ventilation value and thermal comfort sensation. This study could give some theoretical references to garment design and development, especially to the structural design and fabric choice of functional garments.
