Abstract: The paper summed up the achievements in the development of different layers of diaper over the past few years. The top sheet usually use through-air thermal-bonded nonwovens, where membrane material is an ideal choice as it can effectively prevent the liquid from flowing back; the acquisition distribution layer is also mainly based on through-air thermal-bonded nonwovens, where aperture membrane can be used due to its good permeability; the absorbent core is a mixture of fluff pulp and high-absorbent waterbased resin, but in the future, non-pulp diaper will be a developing trend; the back sheet is typically made of microporous film/breathable base film, where personalized prints can build up brand image. The future diaper market will become more segmented, producers should develop

 diapers with tailor-made functions according to consumers’ demand.
