Abstract: The paper introduced seven new tooth designs for doffer clothing and their respective characteristics. Depending on fiber properties, different shaped tooth is adopted to improve the controlling, absorbing, releasing and transferring ability to the fiber, avoid such problems as web drop-out, low transfer rate and impurities, and improve carding quality and the effect of typical applications. It is proved that making proper choice of tooth shape can improve the fiber controlling and releasing performance of the doffer clothing and hence the carding quality.
