Study on the Development Path of Textile and Apparel Industry in the Yangtze River Economic Zone

Abstract: Thanks to years of rapid development, the textile and apparel industry in the Yangtze River Economic Zone has accounted for more than half of the country’s total in terms of scale, total profits,investment, export, etc. However, the resources of the industry are distributed in gradient. Based on analyzing the development conditions of textile and apparel industry in the upper, middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, this paper points out the development path for textile and apparel industry in respective area and recommends to establish a joint-action mechanism for the textile and apparel industry across the administrative areas along the Yangtze River Economic Zone and set up regional alliance, so as to promote the coordinated development of the industry along the Yangtze River Economic Zone.
