Abstract: Ring spinning, siro spinning and siro compact spinning were adopted to produce pure Yilon TM and Yilon TM /cotton blended yarns of same yarn count, which were then knitted into jersey fabrics. The properties of both yarns and the anti-fuzzing-pilling performance of the knitted fabrics were tested. The experimental results showed that the yarns produced with different spinning process have similar properties, but the siro-compact-spun yarn had more uniform surface construction. The anti-fuzzing-pilling performance of the Yilon TM jersey fabrics in siro-spun yarn was 0.5 grade higher than those in ring-spun yarn, and fabrics in siro-compact-spun yarn outperformed those in ring-spun yarn. Compared with pure Yilon TM jersey fabrics, both the anti-fuzzing-pilling performance and the pilling value of Yilon TM /cotton blended fabricswere significantly improved regardless of what spinning technology was adopted.
