Abstract: The paper introduced a preparation method for a melt-blown air filter material based on environmentally degradable polylactic acid (PLA) superfine fiber. It aimed at providing a good air filter materials with good anti-haze and gas-defense properties as well as high filtration efficiency and low filter resistance. The filter material uses polylactic acid chips as raw material, and is made with the advanced meltblown process. The average diameter of the superfine fiber is 1~5 μm and the web density is 50~80 g/m2.
Experimental results show that the material has excellent permeability, it can capture more than 90% of the particle between 1~1.5 micron and 100% of the particles larger than 1.5 micron, and the PM 2.5 filtration efficiency can reach 100%.
