Abstract: Segment colored yarn can be produced by retrofitting existing spinning machine with fancy yarn device. The paper analyzes the yarn-forming principle of segment colored yarn in different looks which generate from different ways of yarn delivery and spinning. It concludes that the style of segment colored yarn depends on the way of combination between the decorative roving and the basic roving and the key to producing desired segment colored yarn lies in taking good control over the decorative roving.
