Abstract: The paper introduces the principle of heat-setting machine. According to the distribution of heatsetting machine, the decentralized SCADA system is designed to collect and monitor the process data. To solve the problem that the controlled object is extremely scattered, a Distributed Control System (DCS) based on Profibus is devised. The control system is composed of one master and five slaves, which are connected via Profibus-DP field bus to facilitate the management and communication between distributed devices.

The PC monitoring system is communicated with the PLC via RS485 and Profinet field bus to monitor and manage the technological process. During debugging, both dynamic and steady-state performance of the system can meet the control requirement. At present, the equipment has been put into operation and the user has also made good economic benefits.
