Abstract: Warp-knitted spacer fabric is a special 3D-structure fabric that has wide applications. As a key component of this structure, spacer yarn plays important role in improving the properties of the spacer fabric,developing new products and opening up new application fields. Study shows that tea charcoal polyester monofilament yarn, which has high modulus, strong rigidity and good dimensional stability and can inhibit the breeding and growth of colibacillus and Staphylococcus aureus, is ideal choice for being used as spacer yarn during developing warp-knitted spacer fabrics for clothing, home-textiles and technical textiles purposes. A new solution for developing warp-knitted spacer fabric based on using functional monofilament yarn, different fabric structures and different process parameters is provided here, which has broken a bottleneck in developing warp-knitted spacer fabric.
