Abstract: The influence of PVA sizing on environment, energy-saving and discharge reduction as well as printing and dyeing quality is discussed in this paper. Using PVA sizing can significantly increase the wastewater treatment costs of printing & dyeing plants. Domestically-developed eco-friendly sizes have better properties than PVA and world-leading price/performance ratio. They can be used as substitutes for PVA sizes. In order to promote eco-friendly sizing technology, so as to realize cleaner production and reach the goals of the “12th Five-year Plan”, the author gave some suggestions.
