Industrial Value-added of China’s Textile Industry up by 5.3% in H1

China’s industrial production growth remained stable in June, as industrial upgrading and new quality productive forces continued to advance. The country’s value-added industrial output, an important economic indicator, expanded 5.3% year on year in June, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed.
On a monthly basis, the industrial output edged up 0.42% in June from the previous month. During the January-June period, it rose 6% year on year.

The industrial output measures the activity of enterprises each with an annual main business turnover of at least 20 million yuan (about US$ 2.8 million).

From January to June, the textile industry’s value-added output upped by 5.3%.

By product, in June, the production of 369 out of 619 kinds of products increased year-on-year. Among them, fabric output dropped by 2.7% year-on-year in June to 2.9 billion meters but grew by 2.1% year-on-year in H1 to 15.9 billion meters. And the output of chemical fibers upped by 3.0% year-on-year in June to 6.77 million tons and surged 13.2% year-on-year to 38.85 million in the first half of this year.
